Chimney fire – Manor Drive, Pickering

Time of call: 1623 hours

Crews from Pickering and Kirkbymoorside have dealt with a chimney fire in a semi detached domestic property. The cause is believed to be an accumulation of soot. Crews used 10.5m ladder, harnesses, roof ladder, triple extension ladder, chimney rods, thermal imaging camera, and 2 hosereels used.

 

Lift rescue – Park Parade, Harrogate

1648 hours

A crew from Harrogate has rescued a male from a lift car after it became stuck. The male was uninjured.

 

False alarm – Windsor Garth, York

Time of call: 1724 hours

A crew from Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 

False alarm – The Stray, Coneysthorpe

Time of call: 1839 hours

A crew from Malton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown fault on the detection system.

 

Small fire – Knaresborough Road, Ripon

Time of call: 1848 hours

A crew from Ripon has extinguished a rubbish fire in the rear garden of a domestic property. The cause was controlled burning by the resident. Crew used 1 hosereel jet.

 

False alarm – James Street, York

Time of call: 1948 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

 

False alarm – Westborough, Scarborough

Time of call: 2018 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the sprinkler system.

 

Water leak – Norwich Drive, Harrogate

Time of call: 2237 hours

A crew from Harrogate has been called to water leaking through the ceiling of a residential property from the flat above due to a tap being left running. Crew gained entry to upper flat and isolated water supply and assisted occupant below with salvage work.

 

Fire – East Parade, Harrogate

Time of call: 0253 hours

2 crews and the aerial ladder from Harrogate have been called to a sign on fire on the front of a commercial building. This resulted in fire damage to 1 small neon sign only. Crew isolated power supply and used 1 hosereel and a triple extension ladder to extinguish. The cause is believed to be an electrical fault.

 

False alarm – Wycar, Bedale

Time of call: 0321 hours

A crew from Bedale has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detector.

 

False alarm - Hipswell Road, Hipswell

Time of call: 0527 hours

Crews from Colburn and Richmond have responded to reports of smoke coming from a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to steam from a boiler vent.

 

False alarm – Wentworth Way, York

Time of call: 0619 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential building. This was a false alarm due to steam from a humidifier.
