 Hedge fire – Leases Lane, East Appleton

Time of call: 1803 hours

A crew from Colburn has been called to a bale of straw on fire which spread to a hedge. The crew used a hose reel jet and a pitchfork. The cause is believed to be a firecracker bird scarer which accidentally activated.

 False alarm – Arkengarthdale Road, Reeth

Time of call: 1815 hours

A crew from Reeth has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

 False alarm – Wedderburn Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 1820 hours

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to an alarm sounding on a piece of medical equipment in the property and not a smoke detector.

 False alarm – Boroughbridge Road, Northallerton

Time of call: 1929 hours

A crew from Northallerton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault in the detection system.

 False alarm – John Street, Barlby, Selby

Time of call: 1931 hours

A crew from Selby has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a water leak.

 Road traffic collision – junction Fulham Lane, A19, Whitley

Time of call: 2305 hours

Crews from Selby and Pontefract have been called to a 2 vehicle road traffic collision involving a car and a van. 1 female passenger trapped in van. Extricated by fire crews using cutting gear, lighting and hand tools. Taken to hospital with neck and back injuries.

 Car fire – A1237, Hopgrove roundabout, York

Time of call: 0054 hours

A crew from Huntington has been called to reports of a car fire. Damage was caused to a small amount of hot oil which had fallen onto the engine block due to a blown gasket. The fire crew used drizzit pads to absorb spilt fuel only.
