Incident Summary – Night Shift Sunday 4th December

Chimney fire – Far Lane, Kettlewell

Time of call: 1743 hours

A crew from Grassington has dealt with a chimney fire in a residential property. They have used hearth kit, roof ladder, 10.5m ladder, 1 hose reel and a thermal imaging camera. The cause is believed to be an accumulation of soot. Advice given.

Road traffic collision – A1 northbound between Allerton Park and Boroughbridge

Time of call: 1743 hours

Crews from Boroughbridge, Knaresborough and Harrogate have been called to a 2 vehicle road traffic collision involving a VW Golf and a Ford Focus. 2  occupants in the VW were not trapped or injured. Male driver of Ford was not trapped or injured. Crew made the scene safe and left the incident with the Police.

False alarm – Oxford Street, Scarborough

Time of call: 1812 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

False alarm – Blossomgate, Ripon

Time of call: 2011 hours

A crew from Ripon has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

Chimney fire – Main Street, Helperthorpe

Time of call: 2141 hours

A crew from Sherburn has dealt with a chimney fire in a residential property. The fire was out on arrival but the crew carried out an inspection using a thermal imaging camera. The cause is believed to be an accumulation of soot.

Water leak – Harlow Oval, Harrogate

Time of call: 2147 hours

A crew from Harrogate has been called to reports of a water leaking from a damaged shower fitting, through the floor and into a kitchen light fitting. The crew isolated the water supply and assisted the owner with salvage work.

False alarm – Micklegate, York

Time of call: 2303 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due a smoke detector being removed by a visitor to facilitate smoking.

Car fire – A165, Cayton

Time of call: 2323 hours

A crew from Scarborough has dealt with a car fire involving a Seat Ibiza. The car was totally destroyed in the blaze, which is believed to have been started deliberately.  Crew used 1 hose reel, breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera.

False alarm – Sutton Way, York

Time of call: 0254 hours

A crew from Acomb has investigated reports of a gas leak in a domestic property.  This was a false alarm.
