Fire in the open – Brayton Barff, Selby

Time of call: 1639

2 fire engines from Selby have dealt with a fire in a wooded area. It involved approximately 200 sqm of undergrowth. Crews used 1 jet, 1 hosereel and beaters. The cause is believed to be a dropped light.

 

Property fire – Market Place, Middleham

Time of call: 1745 hours

Fire engines from Masham and Leyburn have attended a fire in the bathroom of a residential property. This resulted in fire damage being caused to the top of a wooden bay window. Crews have used a hosereel, triple extension ladder and thermal imaging camera. The cause is believed to be accidental due to careless use of a heatgun.

 

Farm machinery fire – Village Street, Aldwark

Time of call: 1748 hours

Crews from Easingwold and Huntington have dealt with a potato harvester on fire in a field. Approximately 75% fire damage was caused to the machine. Crews used 2 breathing apparatus and 2 hosereel jets. The cause is believed to be accidental due to welding.

 

False alarm – Shires Bridge Mill, Easingwold

Time of call: 1839 hours

A crew from Easingwold has been called to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to insects in the detector head.

 

Tree fire – Main Street, Overton

Time of call: 1918 hours

A crew from Acomb has been called to a hollowed out tree on fire. Crew has used 1 hosereel and small tools. Cause is believed to be spontaneous combustion

 

False alarm – Low Ousegate, York

Time of call: 1945 hours

A crew from York has been called to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown fault in the system.

 

Fire in the open – Water End, York

Time of call: 2027 hours

A crew from Acomb had been called to a small fire in woodland. They used a wildfire backpack to extinguish. The cause is believed to be deliberate.

 

Bedroom fire – Lawnswood Drive, York

Time of call: 2100 hours

Crews from Acomb and York have been called to a bedroom on fire in a semi detached domestic property. Fire heat and smoke damage was caused to the bedroom and the first floor suffered smoke damage. Crews have used 1 hosereel jet, 2 breathing apparatus, positive pressure ventilation fan and thermal imaging camera. The cause is believed to be careless use of candles.

 

False alarm – Alcuin Way, Heslington

Time of call: 0035 hours

A crew from York has been called to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to steam.

 

Chimney fire – Nunthorpe Crescent, York

Time of call: 0319 hours

Crews from York and Acomb have been called to a chimney fire in a residential property. Crews have used hearth kit and thermal imaging camera to extinguish. The cause was accumulation of soot.

 

False alarm – Prospect Place, Harrogate

Time of call: 0420 hours

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault in the system.
