Incident Summary – Night Shift Sunday 9th April

 False alarm - Moor Road, Hunmanby

Time of call: 1728 hours

A crew from Filey has investigated reports of a fire in the garden of a residential property. This was controlled burning under supervision. Advice given to occupier.

 Grass fire – Oakdale Avenue, Harrogate

Time of call: 1758 hours

A crew from Harrogate has dealt with a small fire in undergrowth. The cause was deliberate and they used buckets of water to extinguish.

 False alarm – Main Street, Sutton under Whitestonecliffe

Time of call: 1815 hours

A crew from Thirsk has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 Fire – Burdyke Avenue, York  

Time of call: 1844 hours

A crew from Acomb has been called to reports of a fire in a domestic property.  The digital TV box was removed to the open by the occupier and was out on our arrival. Damage was limited to the box only. The cause is believed to be an electrical fault.

 Small fire – Knavesmire Woods, York 

Time of call: 1928 hours

A crew from Acomb has been called to reports of a camp fire in woodland. The fire was out on arrival. Advice was given to youths in the area.

 Small fire – Knavesmire Woods, York 

Time of call: 1959 hours

A crew from Acomb has dealt with a pile of felled logs on fire in woodland. The cause was deliberate and a knapsack sprayer was used.

 Small fire – Duchy Road, Harrogate  

Time of call: 2020 hours

A crew from Harrogate has been called to reports of a small fire in the garden of a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning under supervision.

 False alarm – Flaxman Avenue, York

Time of call: 2044 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

 Rubbish fire – Ellison Avenue, Scarborough

Time of call: 2108 hours

A crew from Scarborough has been called to reports of a small camp fire in the open. The cause was deliberate and the fire was extinguished by a local resident prior to our arrival.

 Bonfire – The Gallops, York

Time of call: 2127 hours

A crew from Acomb has investigated reports of a fire in a field. A search of the area was carried and a bonfire was located in a domestic garden. The fire was under supervision and required no action by fire crew.

 Fire – West Cliff, Whitby            

Time of call: 2318 hours

Crews from Whitby and Lythe have been called to a fire at a commercial residential property. Fire damage was caused to a door frame leading from the building to the exterior. The cause is believed to be a carelessly discarded cigarette. Crews used 1 hose reel and a thermal imaging camera.

 False alarm – Stillington Road, Sutton on the Forest

Time of call: 2333 hours

A crew from Huntington has responded to a smoke alarm activation at a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a faulty detector.

 False alarm – Wentworth Way, York

Time of call: 0028 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to steam generation.

 False alarm – Applegarth Court, Northallerton

Time of call: 0232 hours

A crew from Northallerton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a flashing light on an immersion heater.
