Road traffic collision – A65, Settle

Time of call: 1747 hours

A crew from Settle has dealt with a 2 vehicle road traffic collision involving A Fiat 500 and a VW Golf. No persons were trapped but 7 people suffered minor injuries (none of which required hospital treatment). Fire crew made the scene safe and assisted paramedics with casualty care.

False alarm – Charles Court, Strensall

Time of call: 1821 hours

A crew from Huntington has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault caused by a power cut.

Fire in the open – Harness Lane, Boroughbridge

Time of call: 1851 hours

A crew from Boroughbridge has been called to a small rubbish fire in a field. This was deliberately started by youths and the crew have used buckets of water to extinguish it.

Slurry fire – A6055 near Farnham

Time of call: 1941 hours

Crews from Knaresborough and Harrogate have dealt with a quantity of slurry smouldering in a layby. The cause is believed to be spontaneous combustion and crews have used 1 hosereel to swill the slurry away.

False alarm – Main Street, Dalton

Time of call: 2005 hours

A crew from Thirsk has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a faulty detector.

False alarm – Fulford Road, York

Time of call: 2113 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation at a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to steam brim a burst water pipe.

False alarm – Glasshouses Road, Bewerley

Time: 2316 hours

A crew from Summerbridge has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a deodorant aerosol spray.

Caravan fire – Allerton Park Lane, Allerton

Time of call: 2338 hours

2 crews from Harrogate and a crew from Knaresborough have dealt with a static caravan on fire at a campsite. This has resulted in severe fire, heat and smoke damage to the whole of the caravan. Fortunately there were no persons involved in the incident. Our crews have used 2 breathing apparatus, 2 hosereel jets, a thermal imaging camera and small tools. The incident remains open for a revisit on Friday morning by a Fire Investigation Officer to ascertain the cause.

False alarm – Holmes Avenue, Selby

Time of call: 0129 hours

A crew from Selby has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Car fire – Church Street, Bubwith

Time of call: 0355 hours

A crew from Selby has dealt with a car fire involving a VW Golf which was totally destroyed by fire. The cause is believed to be an electrical fault. Our crew used 2 breathing apparatus and 2 hosereels.

False alarm – Hudson Close, Malton

Time of call: 0501 hours

A crew from Malton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to a water leak affecting the detector. The crew assisted the home owner with salvage work.
