Incident Summary – Night Shift Thursday 13th September

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

False alarm – Wains Road, York

Time of call: 1758 hours

A crew from Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Road traffic collision – A64, High Hutton

Time of call: 1807 hours

Crews from Malton have attended a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a pick up style vehicle. Truck had left the carriageway and collided with small trees. 2 occupants in vehicle were out on our arrival and uninjured. No action taken by fire crew. Incident left with Police.

False alarm – Spring Lane, Pannal

Time of call: 1852 hours

2 crews from Harrogate have investigated a smell of electrical burning in a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to a piece of faulty electrical equipment.

False alarm – Tanpit Lane, Easingwold

Time of call: 2013 hours

A crew from Easingwold has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown cause.

Shed fire – East Way, Whitby

Time of call: 2136 hours

A crew from Whitby has been called to a garden shed on fire which resulted in slight fire damage to the shed. Fire was extinguished by resident using garden hose prior to our arrival. Crew used thermal imaging camera and lights. Cause believed to be dropped cigarette.

Rubbish fire – Nunthorpe Village Road, Stokesley

Time of call: 0120 hours

A crew from Stokesley has been called to a small pile of wood on fire in the open. Crew used 1 hosereel to extinguish. The cause is believed to be a bonfire left unattended.

Flooding – Brompton Court, Brompton on Swale

Time of call: 0300 hours

Crews from Richmond and Colburn have dealt with a burst pipe in a domestic property which caused flooding through the bathroom floor into the ground floor. Crew isolated water and electrics and helped occupier with salvage work. Lighting and salvage sheet used.

False alarm – Bridge Street, Whitby

Time of call: 0302 hours

A crew from Whitby has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a power failure.

False alarm – Monks Cross Drive, Huntington

Time of call: 0323 hours

A crew from Huntington has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown cause.
