Small fire – Thirkleby

Time of call: 1719 hours

A crew from Thirsk has dealt with a fire in the open approximately 4m by 4m. They used 1 hosereel and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire which is believed to have been controlled burning left unattended in close proximity to wooden outbuildings.

 

False alarm – St James Road, Romanby

Time of call: 1807 hours

A crew from Northallerton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a faulty smoke detector.

 

False alarm – Wigginton Road, York

Time of call: 1817 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

 

False alarm – Ousegate, Selby

Time of call: 2006 hours

A crew from Selby has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to smokers materials.

A crew from Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown fault. The system had been reset prior to our arrival. Advice given.

Lightning strike – Windy Hill, Ingleton

Time of call: 0210 hours

A crew from Bentham has been called to a property following a lightning strike. The bungalow, which was under construction, suffered damage to it’s chimney and electrics.  The fire crew carried out an inspection of the scene, treated the owner for shock and advised him to contact an electrician.

 

Rescue – Goodenber Road, High Bentham

Time of call: 0332 hours

A crew from Bentham has assisted an elderly male who had fallen inside his property. The crew used manpower to assist the man into his chair and he has been left in the care of his daughter.
