Incident Summary Night Shift Thursday 2nd August 2018

3rd August 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.


Moor Lee Lane, Eggborough Time of call: 18:30

Crews from Selby were called to a compost heap that was on fire caused by spontaneous combustion. The crews used a hose reel jet and pitchforks to extinguish.

Leighton Reservoir Time of call: 18:32

A crew from Bedale were called to a fire in the open. This was controlled burning that had been left unattended. The crews used a hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera.

Forest Lane Head, Harrogate Time of call: 11:30

A crew from Boroughbridge were called to a road traffic collision. Crews helped with making the area safe and removing debris from the road.

Main Street, Cayton Time of call: 18:46

A crew from Scarborough were called to an automatic fire alarm. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

Northallerton Time of call: 19:24

Crews from Northallerton were called to a fire in a residential property. All occupants were out on our arrival and the crews extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets and two main jets.

London Road, Barkston Ash Time of call: 20:02

A crew from Tadcaster were called to a an automatic fire alarm sounding in a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

Arran Place, York Time of call: 21:26

A crew from York were called to a fire in the open. This was a fire to a willow tree. The crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish this.

James Street, Harrogate  Time of call: 21:54

A crew from Harrogate were called to an automatic fire alarm sounding in a commercial property. Cause is unknown.

Clifton, York Time of call: 01:35

A crew from Acomb were called to an automatic fire alarm sounding in a residential property. Cause was due to insects in the detector head.
