Incident Summary – Night Shift Thursday 6th October

False alarm – Evelyn Crescent, York

Time of call: 1714 hours

A crew from Acomb have responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

False alarm - Blossomgate, Ripon

Time of call: 1719 hours

A crew from Ripon has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Rescue – Prospect Place, Wistow

Time of call: 1736 hours

A crew from Selby along with the heavy rescue unit from Tadcaster have been called to assist ambulance crews rescue a male who had become trapped whilst working underneath a car which had been jacked up. On the arrival of the Fire crews, the casualty had been rescued from under the vehicle. Crews assisted paramedics with first aid and with transferring male to air ambulance.

Time of call: 1812 hours

A crew from Tadcaster  has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

False alarm – Blossomgate, Ripon

A crew from Ripon has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

False alarm – Low Ousegate, York

Time of call: 2053 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to an aerosol spray.

False alarm – Foreshore Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 2056 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. There is no cause as the system had been reset prior to our arrival.

Rescue – Dean Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 2104 hours

A crew from Scarborough has been called to rescue a female who had become locked inside a place of worship. The church warden also attended and the female was released.

Rescue – Ashton Lane, York

Time of call: 2124 hours

A crew from Acomb has rescued a 15 year old female from the roof of an electricity sub station after she became stuck whilst retrieving a mobile phone. The crew used a triple extension ladder and lighting.

Rubbish fire – Quay Street, Scarborough

Time of call: 2322 hours

A crews from Scarborough has dealt with a rubbish fire in the open adjacent to an electrical sub station. Damage was limited to the rubbish – no damage to the building. Cause was deliberate. 1 hosereel used.

Rescue – Kexby Avenue, York

Time of call: 2345 hours

A crew from York has rescued a 13 year old boy from the bathroom of a domestic property after the lock broke. The crew used hand tools.

Fire – Walmgate, York

Time of call: 0222 hours

Crews from York and Acomb have dealt with a fire at the rear of a commercial property. It involved a pressure washer which had been left switched on out on a first floor veranda. A sudden down pour is believed to have caused a fault with the pressure washer resulting in it bursting into flames. The crews have used 1 hosereel jet and a 9m ladder.
