False alarm – Main Street, Embsay

Time of call: 1706 hours

A crew from Skipton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to accidental activation of a break glass point.

Chimney fire – Bellaby Park, Nawton

Time of call: 1744 hours

A crew from Kirkbymoorside has dealt with a chimney fire in a domestic property. The cause was an accumulation of soot. Crew used a hosereel adaptor, thermal imaging camera and chimney rods.

False alarm – Magdalens Road, Ripon

Time of call: 1907 hours

2 crews from Ripon have investigated a smell of smoke inside a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to a smoke from a wood burning stove which had activated the smoke detector. Crew used a thermal imaging camera and triple extension ladder to carry out a precautionary search.

False alarm – Finkle Street, Hensall

Time of call: 2003 hours

A crew from Selby has been called to reports of a chimney fire in a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to excessive smoke from a recently lit fire.

False alarm – Abbey Road, Knaresborough

Time of call: 2242 hours

A crew rom Knaresborough has been called to reports of a female in the River Nidd. On our arrival, a female was discovered on the river bank in the care of the Police. It’s unknown if she entered the water. No action was required by Fire crew.

Rescue – Station Road, Threshfield

Time of call: 0105 hours

Grassington crew has gained access to a room in a residential property after the resident became locked inside a room. The crew used a lock snapper and the female was released unharmed.

Doriam Avenue, York

Time of call: 0224 hours

Huntington crew has been called to gain entry to a domestic property after the elderly occupant fell and sustained a head injury. Crew used manpower to gain access to property via an open window and left male in care of paramedics.
