Incident Summary – Night Shift Tuesday 24th April

 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 

Fire – Sandy Lane, North Duffield

Time of call: 1628 hours

A crew from Selby has been called to an electrical pole on fire. This resulted in severe fire damage to the pole and slight fire damage to an adjacent tree. The cause is believed to be a fault in the pole mounted transformer. Crew allowed the fire to burn out under supervision and left incident with Northern Power Grid.

 

Small fire – A162, Tadcaster

Time of call: 1658 hours

A crew from Tadcaster has dealt with a small fire in the open. Crew used pitchforks and buckets of water. The cause is believed to be controlled burning left unattended.

 

False alarm – Pannal Ash Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 1756 hours

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to accidental actuation of a break glass point.

 

Malicious call – Foreshore Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 1918 hours

A crew rom Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a malicious call out due to deliberate activation of a break glass point.

 

False alarm – Pannal Ash Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 2338 hours

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in flats caused by cooking fumes.

 

25th APRIL

 

False alarm good intent – Field near Nunnington Crescent, Harrogate

Time of call: 0024 hours

A crew from Harrogate responded to a report of a fire in a field which was found to be controlled burning.

 

False alarm malicious – Play park, Jenny Field Drive, Harrogate

Time of call: 0032 hours

A crew from Harrogate responded to a report of a fire in a play park. No sign of fire on their arrival with the 999 call deemed malicious.

 

False alarm – Heslington Road, York

Time of call: 0041 & 0137 & 0200 hours

A crew from York has responded on three occasions to an alarm activation in a premises – all deemed to have activated due to a system fault.

 

Fire - Dalton Airfield Industrial Estate, Dalton   **Incident Ongoing**

Time of call: 0335 hours

5 crews from Thirsk, Ripon, Boroughbridge, Easingwold and Northallerton have dealt with a fire in an industrial dryer at a factory. Crews have used 2 hosereel jets and 4 breathing apparatus. Incident now scaled down to 3 fire engines for damping down and checking for hotspots.

 

False alarm – Nether Poppleton

Time of call: 0411 hours

A crew from Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial unit. This was a false alarm due to insects in the detector head.

 

False alarm – Swainsea Lane, Pickering

Time of call: 0417 hours

A crew from Pickering has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown fault.

 

False alarm – Stirling Road, York

Time of call: 0437 hours

A crew rom Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault in the system

 

Road traffic collision – Towthorpe Road, York

Time of call: 0556 hours

2 Crews rom Huntington have been called to a road traffic collision involving a single vehicle which had left the road and landed in a ditch. No persons trapped or injured. No action taken by crew.
