Incident Summary Night Shift Tuesday 28th November

29th November 2017

Village Street, Catton Time: 17:27

Crews from Thirsk and Ripon attended reports of a chicken shed on fire. On arrival crews discovered a large fire in the open which had scorched part of the shed. Crews used a hose reel, thermal imaging camera and small tools to remove some panels from the shed to check for any hot spots.

Lancaster Park Road, Harrogate Time: 17:27

A crew from Harrogate were called to reports of a fire alarm sounding in a public building. The alarm was activated in error by a break glass point being broken.

 Beal Lane, Beal Time: 17:31

Crews attended a residential property after reports of a garage on fire which was attached to a house. Crews used two hose reels and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire which caused a small amount of damage to the house.

 Cockret Court, Selby Time: 19:10

A crew from Selby were requested by the Police to attend and address due to there being several youths burning in a garden. Crews extinguished the fire using one hose reel and gave advice to the youths about burning to close to sheds and other property.

 Arrows Terrace, Boroughbridge Time: 19:37

A crew from Boroughbridge were mobilised to a chimney fire. They extinguished the fire by removing the log burner and removing debris in the flue.

 Bilton Lane, Harrogate Time: 20:04

A crew from Harrogate were alerted by a resident to a fire in the open which they had seen youths gathering round. Crews extinguished the fire using knapsack sprayer. The cause is believed to be deliberate.

 Wentworth Way, York Time: 22:34

A crew from York fire station were called to an automatic fire alarm sounding in a residential block. The cause of the alarm was believed to be cooking fumes.

 Lascelles Lane, Northallerton Time: 00:35

Crews from Northallerton were called to a fire alarm sounding in a residential property. The cause of the alarm is believed to be a fault on the system. 

 Clifford Street, York Time: 01:42

A crew from York were called to a fire alarm sounding in a commercial premises. The cause of the alarm was due to synthetic smoke.

 A1 South Bound Carriageway between Barton and Scotch Corner.  Time: 05:37

Fire crews from Richmond and Colburn attended this incident and removed a door from a heavy goods vehicle allowing the driver to walk free after it had collided with the highways barrier.
