Incident Summary Night Shift Tuesday 4th September 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

We also attended a number of fire alarm activations during the shift which turned out to be a false alarms.

Fire in Kitchen – Dean Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 18:19

Appliances from Scarborough attended this incident which involved a fire in a cooker, the fire was out on arrival and crews inspected the property.

Pan fire – Scalby Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 18:27

Appliances from Filey and Robin Hood’s Bay attended this incident which turned out to be burnt cooking.

Reports of fire in bedroom – Hessay, York

Time of call: 18:30

2 appliances from Acomb attended this incident but this turned out to be a false alarm.

Oven Fire – Oatlands area, Harrogate

Time of call: 18:56

2 appliances and an aerial ladder platform from Harrogate attended this incident.  The fire was out on arrival and crews completed an inspection only.

Road Traffic Collision – A168, Dishforth

Time of call: 19:47

Appliances from Boroughbridge, Ripon, and Tadcaster attended this incident along with 2 incident support units equipped with heavy rescue equipment.  Fire crews extricated 1 male who was trapped in a transport vehicle using hydraulic cutting equipment, hydraulic rams, small tools and stabilisation equipment,

Fire in the open – Ryton, Malton

Time of call: 20:09

An appliance from Malton attended this incident which was a 10m by 10m fire in the open which was deep seated, crews used a hose reel jet, small tools and a light portable pump to source water from a nearby beck.

Fire in bedroom – The Groves area, York

Time of call: 20:09

Appliances from York, Acomb and Huntington attended this incident and extinguished a fire in one of the bedrooms using 2 breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet.

Reports of a fire in bedroom – Hessay, York

Time of call: 20:11

Appliances from Huntington and Acomb attended this incident but this turned out to be a false alarm.

Fire in the open – Wrelton, Pickering

Time of call: 20:57

An appliance from Pickering attended this incident and extinguished an unattended bonfire using 2 hose reel jets.

Wooden shelter fire – Victoria Avenue, Harrogate

Time of call: 23:39

Appliances from Harrogate attended this incident and extinguished the fire using 2 hose reel jets and small tools.

Fire in the open – South Street, Scarborough

Time of call: 01:09

An appliance from Scarborough attended this incident and extinguished a bin on fire using a hose reel jet.

Scooter fire – Healuagh, Tadcaster

Time of call: 02:07

An appliance from Tadcaster attended this incident and extinguished a scooter on fire using a hose reel jet.
