Incident Summary – Night Shift Tuesday 9th January

 

Fire – Clifton Street Scarborough

Time of call: 1648 hours

2 crews from Scarborough have been called to a fire in the foyer of a block of flats. Fire damage was caused to a quantity of papers and leaflets and the adjacent carpet. The fire was extinguished by a resident with cups of water. The cause is deliberate. Crews carried out an inspection only.

 

False alarm – Carmelite Street, York

Time of call: 1823 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to steam from a shower.

 

False alarm – Standard Way Industrial Park, Northallerton

Time of call: 1824 hours

2 crews from Northallerton have responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to steam from a dishwasher.

 

False alarm – Town Head, Settle

Time of call: 1838 hours

A crew from Settle has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 

False alarm – Carleton Road, Skipton

Time of call: 1847 hours

A crew from Skipton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a faulty detector.

 

Kitchen fire – Crossways Crescent, Harrogate   

Time of call: 1902 hours

2 crews from Harrogate have been called to a fire in the kitchen of a residential property. Fire damage was caused to a grill pan which had been left unattended. The fire was out on our arrival but crew carried out an inspection and fitted a smoke detector.

 

Road traffic collision – Junction of B6267 and B6268 near Masham          

Time of call: 2044 hours

Crews from Bedale and Ripon have dealt with a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a Fiat which had left the road, gone down an embankment and ended up in woodland. 1 male with facial injuries, out of vehicle and in care of Ambulance. 1 female trapped in vehicle. She was released by fire crews and taken to hospital with back injuries. Crews used cutting gear and lighting equipment.

 

False alarm – Wentworth Way, York

Time of call: 2114 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a faulty detector.

 

False alarm – Leyburn Road, Catterick Garrison

Time of call: 2134 hours

A crew from Colburn has responded to a smoke alarm in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a deodorant spray.

 

False alarm – North Road, Ripon

Time of call: 2146 hours

Crews from Ripon and Boroughbridge have been called to reports of smoke coming from the rear window of a residential property. This was a false alarm due to steam from a tumble dryer.

 

Water rescue – River Ouse, York

Time of call: 2149 hours

Crews  from Acomb and a boat crew from York have been called to reports of a male in the river near Skeldergate Bridge. 1 male was extracted from the water by Police using throw lines prior to our arrival.

 

False alarm – Beningbrough

Time of call: 0114 hours

A crew from Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.
