Incident Summary – Night Shift Wednesday 15th June

Effect entry – St Winifreds Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 1921 hours

A crew from Harrogate has gained entry to a domestic property after the elderly resident locked themselves out. They used small hand tools.

Small fire – Lang Avenue, York

Time of call: 2032 hours

A crew from York has dealt with a small fire left unattended in the garden of a residential property. They used 1 hose reel jet.

False alarm – Meadow Lane, Northallerton

Time of call: 2142 hours

A crew from Northallerton has responded to reports of a fire out of control in the rear garden of a residential property. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning under supervision.

False alarm – Market Place, Thirsk

Time of call: 2206 hours

Crews from Thirsk and Northallerton and an aerial ladder platform from Huntington have been sent to reports of sparks coming from the roof of a 3 storey building. This was a false alarm due to a pigeon scarer.

False alarm – Alcuin Way, York

Time of call: 2233 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential building. This was a false alarm due to dust in the detector.

Person locked in – Morritt Close, York

Time of call: 2252 hours

A crew from York has rescued a female from the bedroom of a first floor flat after her bedroom door handle broke. They used a triple extension ladder to gain entry via a window before using the broken handle to open the door. The female was uninjured.

Water leak – Main Street, Hillam

Time of call: 0108 hours

A crew from Selby has attended a water leak in a domestic property which was causing flooding in a bathroom. The crew isolated the mains water supply to the property and assisted the occupants with removing water from the property.  Manpower only used.

Fire – Trinity Lane, Ripon

Time of call: 0425 hours

2 fire crews from Ripon have been called to a fire at a commercial property.  The fire is believed to have started in a brick outbuilding before spreading to an adjacent warehouse. The brick building has been totally destroyed by fire and the warehouse has suffered very slight fire damage to it’s roof timbers. The crews have used 2 breathing apparatus, 2 hosereel jets, 2 thermal imaging cameras and various small tools. The cause is believed to be an electrical fault.

Time of call: 0516 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential building. This was a false alarm due to a fault in the detection system.
