Incident Summary – Night Shift Wednesday 19th April

 

False alarm – Clementhorpe,York

Time of call: 1723 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to building work.

 

False alarm – Keighley Road, Skipton

Time of call: 1821 hours

A crew from Skipton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to dust from workmen.

 

False alarm - Grimbald Crag Road, Knaresborough

Time of call: 1835 hours

A crew from Knaresborough has investigated reports of a fire in the open. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning under supervision.

 

Bin fire - Sim Balk Lane, York

Time of call: 1847 hours

A crew from Acomb has dealt with a bin fire. The cause is believed to be a dropped light and the crew used buckets of water.

 

Rubbish fire – York Road, Naburn

Time of call: 2057 hours

A crew from York has dealt with a pile of approx. 20 tyres on fire (5m by 5m). The cause is believed to be deliberate and the crew used a 45mm jet with foam to extinguish.

 

Gas leak – North Marine Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 2243 hours

A crew from Scarborough has been called to a gas leak inside a derelict commercial property. The crew gained entry to the property to allow the gas engineer to isolate the gas supply. Incident left with Police.

 

False alarm – York Road, Stillington

Time of call: 2257 hours

A crew rom Easingwold has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. The cause was believed to be a system fault.

 

False alarm – Calf Close, Haxby

Time of call: 0038 hours

A crew from Huntington has responded to a smoke alarm in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a system fault.

 

Property fire – Fountayne Road, Hunmanby

Time of call: 0119 hours

Crews from Filey, Scarborough and Sherburn have been called to a fire at a residential property.  Fire in a wheelie spread to the roof causing fire, heat and smoke damage to the roof and also damage to a window.  There was also slight smoke damage to the interior of the property. Crews used 2 breathing apparatus, 2 hosereels, roof ladder, triple extension ladder and a thermal imaging camera. The incident remains open for a revisit by a Fire Investigation Officer to confirm the cause.

 

False alarm – West Park, Harrogate

Time of call: 0645 hours

A crew rom Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a water leak affecting the detection system.

 

False alarm – Clifford Street, York

Time of call: 0712 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to routine testing of the system.
