Incident Summary – Night Shift Wednesday 28th September

Lift rescue – Church Square, Harrogate Time of call: 1715 hours

A crew from Harrogate has rescued a male from a lift after it became stuck between floors. The male was uninjured. Crew used lift keys.

Road traffic collision – Mill lane, Wigginton Road, York Time of call: 1728 hours

Crews from York and Huntington have dealt with a 2 car road traffic collision involving a BMW 1 series and a Jaguar XF. The female occupant of the BMW was out of the vehicle and appeared uninjured. The male in the Jaguar was trapped in the vehicle. He was released by fire crews and taken to hospital by air ambulance with suspected spinal injuries. Fire crews use hydraulic cutting gear, chocks, blocks and hand tools.

False alarm – Lancaster Park Road, Harrogate Time of call: 1750 hours

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to steam from a steam cleaning machine.

False alarm – Harlow Moor Road, Harrogate Time of call: 1807 hours

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to smoking products.

False alarm - Broadway West, York Time of call: 2056 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

Playground fire – Northfields, Strensall Time of call: 2108 hours

A crew from Huntington has been called to reports of a fire on a play park. This was a small amount of rubber matting (2m by 2m) on fire. The cause was deliberate and the crew used 1 hosereel jet to extinguish.

Water leak – Bridge Street, York Time of call: 2121 hours

A crew from York has been called to water flooding inside a commercial property. This was due to a fractured water meter. The crew isolated the water supply and left with incident with the occupier until the arrival of the water authority.

False alarm – Scalby Mills Road, Scarborough Time of call: 2222 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

False alarm – manor Court, Hillam Time of call: 2251 hours

A crew from Selby has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to insects in the detector head.

False alarm – Davygate, York Time of call: 0246 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a burglar alarm being mistaken for a fire alarm.
