Incident Summary Night Shift Wednesday 8th November 2018

8th November 2018

 In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Hanover Road, Scarborough Time of call:17:53

A crew from Scarborough were called to a report of a fire in the garden of a residential property. This was a false alarm and was controlled burning with the occupant in attendance.

Swaledale Road, Catterick Garrison Time of call: 20:22

Crews from Colburn and Richmond were called to a fire alarm sounding in a residential property. This was a false alarm and no Fire Service action was taken.

 Chain Bar Lane, Killinghall Time of call: 20:50

Crews from Harrogate and Knaresborough were called to a fire sighted by a passer- by, that was believed to be to a building. On arrival, the crews found it to be a false alarm and this was a bonfire under supervision.

 

Peasey Hills Road, Malton Time of call: 21:28 

Crews from Malton were called to smoke emitting from a boiler. Crews isolated gas and electrics and cleared the area around the boiler. Crews checked the boiler with a thermal imaging camera and advice was given to the occupant.

Wains Road, York Time of call: 00:21

A crew from Acomb were called to a male who had become locked in a bathroom due to a failed locking mechanism. The crews used small tools to free the male.

 

Shortbank Road, Skipton Time of call: 00:28

Crews from Skipton attended to a report of a shed on fire. This fire was out on arrival and crews inspected this using a thermal imaging camera and small tools. 

 

Fellbrook Avenue, York Time of call: 00:38

A crew from Acomb attended to a property where the elderly occupant had a concern over a fire safety issue. The crew carried out a home fire risk assessment to ensure the property was safe.

Ings Lane, Kirkbymoorside Time of call: 05:51

Crews from Kirkbymoorside and Helmsley along with an Officer were called to a light on fire inside a commercial premises. Whilst trying to gain access to the light, which was up  a height, the fire self extinguished. This incident has been left in charge of site staff and maintenance.  

We also attended fire alarm activations in York,Harrogate and Masham. These were false alarms.
