2 crews from Harrogate have responded to reports of smoke coming from a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to steam from the boiler flue.

False alarm – High Street, Skipton

Time of call: 1938 hours

A crew from Skipton has responded to a fire alarm activation at a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault in the detection system.

False alarm – Percys Lane, York

Time of call: 2025 hours

A crew from York has investigated an activation of a fire alarm at a residential property. This was a false alarm due to steam from a shower.

False alarm – Skipton Road, Crosshills

Time of call: 2107 hours

A crew from Skipton has investigated an activation of a fire alarm at an industrial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault in the detection system

Fire at industrial property – Weeland Road, Eggborough

Time of call: 2149 hours

Fire crews from Selby, Snaith, Castlford, Normanton and Wakefield, along with an aerial ladder platform from Harrogate, have been called to an incident at an industrial premises. Crews were assisting on site staff to cool machinery used in the industrial process. Crews were also involved in pumping water from a basement to avoid damage to electrical equipment.

This incident is ongoing but has now been scaled down to 1 fire engine. A crew is expected to remain on scene for most of this morning. Further details to follow.

A crew from Settle has investigated an activation of a fire alarm at a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault with the detection system.

Fire – Reeth Road, Richmond

Time of call: 0028 hours

Crews from Richmond and Colburn were sent to reports of a motorhome on fire at a property on Reeth Road. The vehicle suffered extensive fire damage. 2 cylinders were involved, 1 butane and 1 propane. These have been removed and cooled and left with owner. 1 hosereel and 2 breathing apparatus were used. The cause is believed to be an electrical fault..

Gas leak – Scarcroft Road, York

Time of call: 0044 hours

A crew from York has been called to investigate a noxious smell in domestic property. This was a false alarm as the occupier had mistaken the smell of sewage for gas. Advice given.
