Chimney fire – Middlewood Lane, Fylingthorpe

Time of call: 1648 hours

A crew from Robin Hoods Bay has dealt with a chimney fire in a domestic property. The have used 1 hosereel, hearth kit and a thermal imaging camera. The cause was an accumulation of soot.

Road traffic collision – A19 northbound opposite Mount Grace Priory junction

Time of call: 1826 hours

Crews from Northallerton and Thirsk have been called to a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a Ford Fiesta with 1 male occupant. The male was out of the vehicle and in the care of Ambulance and Police on the arrival of the Fire Service. Crews have made the vehicle safe using hand tools.

Tumble dryer fire – Heath Crescent, Low Bradley

Time of call: 1912 hours

2 crews from Skipton have dealt with a tumble dryer fire in an outbuilding attached to a domestic property. This has resulted in fire damage to the tumble dryer and garden items in the outbuilding. Crews have used 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hosereel. The cause is believed to be an electrical fault in the tumble dryer. Fortunately smoke detectors were fitted and activated.

False alarm – Camp Road, Wathgill

Time of call: 2332 hours

A crew from Leyburn has responded to an activation of a smoke alarm in an accommodation block. This was a false alarm due to a fault in the detection system

Shed fire – Manor Drive, Pickering

Time of call: 0000 hours

Fire crews from Pickering and Kirkbymoorside have been called to a shed (4m x 3m) on fire in the garden of a domestic dwelling. The shed, which contained a moped, was totally destroyed in the fire. Fire and smoke damage was caused to an adjacent shed and a third shed suffered heat damage to it’s felt. Additionally 3m of hedge has been destroyed and 10 fence panels. Crews used 3 hosereel jets, lighting and hand tools. The cause if believed to be deliberate however the incident remains open for a visit by a Fire Investigation Officer this morning.

False alarm – High Street, Brompton

Time of call: 0356 hours

A crew from Sherburn has responded to an activation of a smoke alarm in an educational building. This was a false alarm due to a fault in the detection system.
