Incident 6705  Time 1840 – Road to Rievaulx, Helmsley

Crews from Helmsley and Thirsk attended a field on fire close to pig sheds on a farm. Hose reels and beaters were used to extinguish the fire that affected 150m x 100m of standing crop.

Incident 6708  Time 2246 – Valley Bridge Parade, Scarborough

A rubbish bin was tipped out and the contents set on fire inside a smoking shelter close to a college campus. Fire damage to rubbish only. Scarborough crew used a hose reel to extinguish the fire.

Incident 6716  Time 0548 – The Pastures, Filey

A male was rescued from his home by Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus after a fire in his kitchen. Incident still ongoing but believed to be cooking left unattended.

In addition to the above incidents our Fire crews attended automatic fire alarm calls in Knaresborough, Bedale, Leyburn, Summerbridge, York, Pickering and Huntington.  All were false alarms.
