Round up of incidents for Dayshift Sunday 14th February 2016            

False alarm – Swan Road, Harrogate Time of call: 0849 hours

A crew from Harrogate attended reports of a fire alarm activation to find that it was a false alarm due to steam from a shower.

Chimney Fire – Great Close, Selby Time of call: 1037 hours

A crew from Selby  were called to a report of a chimney fire. Upon attending they found that this had been caused by a blocked vent on the coal burning boiler.                                                                              
RTC – A65 Clapham Time of call: 1218 hours

Crews from Bentham and Settle were called to a 2 vehicle road traffic collision between a motorcycle and a car. There were 3 casualties, one male aged in his 50s who was pronounced fatal, a female aged approx 10 years old and another female whose age is unknown who were transported to hospital via road ambulance with what are believed to be minor injuries.

False alarm – Littlethorpe Road, Ripon Time of call: 1225 hours

Ripon crew were called to investigate an automatic fire alarm activation which they found to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

RTC – North Otterington Time of call: 1252 hours

Crews from Northallerton were called to a single vehicle road traffic collision in North Otterington. The driver was out on arrival being treated by paramedics. Fire crews released the passenger, a male aged approx 25 using hydraulic cutting gear, dewalt saw and hand tools to remove roof. Male passenger was then transported to hospital with suspected spinal injuries.

RTC  – Kirkgate, Hackness Time of call: 1428 hours

Fire crews from Scarborough attended reports that a vehicle had left the road and slipped into a quarry. Upon arrival they found that the vehicle had slipped from the icy road and onto the embankment. No fire brigade resources were required at this incident.

False alarm – Townhead Court, Settle Time of call: 1435 hours

Settle crew were called to investigate an automatic fire alarm activation which they found to be a false alarm due to dust from workmen in property

Chimney Fire – Coronation Avenue, Hinderwell Time of call: 1518 hours

Crews from Lythe attended a property in Coronation Avenue following reports of a chimney fire. The fire was out on arrival and was caused by an accumulation of soot.
