Station Road, Selby  Time 08:55

Crews from Selby attended a road traffic collision involving two vehicles and a female pedestrian. As a result of the collision, the pedestrian was struck whilst crossing a road. The drivers of the vehicles were unharmed, but the female casualty needed to be air lifted to hospital with head and leg injuries. The fire crews made the area safe by attending to the vehicles and provided first aid to the casualty until ambulance crews arrived.

Plompton Road, Harrogate  Time 09:45

Crews from Harrogate attended a three vehicle road traffic collision where low visibility is believed to have caused vehicles to collide from the rear. Two drivers were out on arrival of the crews with no injuries, but the male driver of a BMW was trapped in his car. The crews used their hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of the BMW and allow access to the male. With paramedics on site, the crews assisted in moving the casualty onto a spinal board. The casualty was then taken by road ambulance to hospital with suspected neck injuries.

Low Row, Reeth  Time 11:11

Crews from Reeth and Hawes attended a road traffic collision involving one car that has gone off road. 2 persons were in the car, one managed to exit by themselves, the other was trapped and needed rescuing. Crews used their hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of the car. The casualty was then assisted to the paramedics who were on site and later taken to hospital with head injuries.

Esplanade Gardens, Scarborough  Time 12:18

A car travelling down a one way street collided with a car travelling in the opposite direction. One car left the scene before the fire crews arrived. When our Scarborough crew arrived they extinguished a fire to the engine of the vehicle on scene using a hose reel jet.

Dl Pyke, York  Time 12:36

Crew from York, Acomb and Huntington attended a property with a fire reported to the kitchen. When crews arrived they found that a fire to the oven was already out. A plastic chopping board was in the oven and had caught fire. Crews made the area safe and ventilated the kitchen for the occupiers.

Oxton Lane, Tadcaster  Time 12:46

A 14 week old kitten had become stuck in the closing mechanism of a sofa. A crew from Tadcaster arrived and were able to rescue the kitten by using cutting equipment on the sofa, returning the kitten (Cuco) to her owners.

Hudswell Lane, Hudswell  Time 13:33

Our Richmond crew attended a fire to a wheelie bin to the rear of property. The fire had spread to the fence it was near to. Crews managed to extinguish the fire using a hose reel jet. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.

The Mount, York  Time 13:47

A crew from Acomb attended a report of a tree on fire to the rear of a property. The cause of the fire is unknown, but the crews were able to extinguish the fire using a hose reel jet, triple extension ladder and an axe.

Low Row, Richmond  Time 14:57

A van had collided with a wall and come to stop upside-down off a road in Low Row. A crew from Reeth arrived to find the driver of the van was out and unharmed. The crew made the scene safe and cleared the road and left the incident in the hands of the paramedics who had arrived.  

Moorfoot Lane, Cononley  Time 16:18

Crews from Skipton attended a report of a house fire to a cottage with a person trapped inside. When crews arrived they located the occupant and assisted them outside. They used thermal image cameras to search for the fire, but only found lit candles on a heater that had melted and were giving off a strong smell. The crews removed these and ventilated the property.
