Round up of incidents for Night Shift Tuesday 23rd February 2016

RTC – Great North Road, Skeeby Time of Call: 1722

Crews from Richmond and Colburn were called to reports of a single vehicle collision with a building with possible persons trapped. Crews found that the incident involved a 17.5 tonne truck and that all persons had been released prior to their arrival. Crews carried out scene safety and a structural engineer was requested.

False Alarm – Station Square, Harrogate Time of Call: 1802

Crews from arrogate were called to an automatic fire alarm activation. They found this was a false alarm due to cigarette smoke.

Chimney Fire – Lancaster Terrace, Hawes Time of Call: 1846

Crews from Hawes were called to a chimney fire in Hawes. They found there was smoke coming through the masonry on the chimney breast. Crews extinguished the fire using hearth kit and hose reel and advised occupants not to re-light until inspected.

Car Wash Fire – Hull Road, Osbaldwick Time of Call: 1922

Crews from York and Acomb were called to reports of smoke coming from the car wash of a service station on Hull Road. Upon arrival they isolated power to the system and found that the smoke had been caused by a burnt out water pump.

False Alarm – Walkerville Industrial Estate, Catterick Garrison Time of Call: 2012

Crews from Colburn attended an automatic fire alarm activation. They found that this was a false alarm due to an engineer testing the system.

RTC – Allerston, Pickering Time of Call: 2139

Crews from Pickering and Sherburn were called to reports of a single vehicle RTC in Allerston. They arrived to find that the occupant, a female in her 50s was out of the car and being treated by paramedics. Crews made vehicle safe and female was taken to hospital via road ambulance for a check up.

Lift Rescue – Borouhbridge Road, Northalleton Time of Call: 2233

Crews from Northallerton attended a property on Boroughbridge road and released 2 females from a lift using lift keys.

Fire – Red Gate to Sandstone Quarry, Sneaton, Whitby Time of Call: 0200

Crews from Whitby and Lythe were called to reports of a possible house fire in Sneaton. Upon arrival they found that there was a log store adjacent to a property which was on fire. Crews extinguished using a hose reel and breathing apparatus. The cause of the fire is to be determined by a fire investigation officer during a revisit.

False Alarm – Long Trods, Selby Time of Call: 0325

Crews from Selby were called to an automatic fire alarm activation. They found this was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

Fire in open – A66 Scotch Corner Time of Call: 0626

Crews from Richmond attended a report of a tractor tyre on fire in a field by the side of the A66 at Scotch Corner. Crews extinguished using 1 hose reel.
