Round up of incidents Day Shift 12th Feb

 Fire in Public toilet, high street, Knaresborough

Time of call: 09:05

Fire crews from Knaresborough attended reports of smoke seen coming from the ladies public toilets. Toilet paper had been set on fire inside the dispenser. Crews extinguished fire using one hose reel. Very minor fire damage occurred.

 Animal rescue Lawkland, Settle

Time of call 16:04

Fire crews from Settle attended to a bull with it’s head stuck through a metal gate.

Bull was released by crews using hydraulic cutting equipment. Farmer donated a sum of money to the Fire Fighters Charity as a goodwill gesture.

 Animal rescue - Holbeck Hill, Weaponess, Scarborough

Fire crews from Scarborough assisted RSPCA with a seal stuck in rock surface. Fire crews used airbags to release rocks and Seal wriggled free and was last seen swimming out to sea!

 Smoke sighted - School Track, Cundall, Boroughbridge.

Fire crews from Thirsk and Boroughbridge atended reports of smoke coming from a school

This was caused by an electrical fault with a themostat. Minor fire damage caused but smoke logging to three rooms in the school. Crews carried out ventillation.

 Automatic Fire Alarm – Percy’s Lane, York

Time of call 14:57

Fire crews from York attended an alarm activation at some student accomodation. This was a false alarm triggered by steam.

 Automatic Fire Alarm – Kings Road, Harrogate

Time of call 15:07

Fire crews from Harrogate attended an alarm activation at some flats however this was a false alarm triggered by cooking fumes .

 Fairway, York

Fire crews from Acomb assisted the RSPCA and rescued a cat stuck up a tree. Crews used a 9 meter ladder to rescue the kitty.
