Incident Summary Day Shift 11th June 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred. 

Burniston, Scarborough – Time of call 08:05

Crews from Scarborough, Malton and an officer attended a two vehicle collision into a building. Crews used a winch.

Wykeham, Scarborough – Time of call 08:27

An officer and crews from Malton and Tadcaster responded to a sheep stuck in a silt pond. Inflatable pathways, tactical water rescue PPE and animal rescue halter used.

Seamer, Stokesly – Time of call 11:34

Crews from Stokesly attended a bungalow fire, this incident then escalated to a 6 pump incident including various over border appliances and officers. Crews fought the fire using hose reels.

Bentham– Time of call 13:17

Crews from Settle, Bentham and Hornby attended an industrial oven on fire in a  warehouse. 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reels, 2 thermal imaging cameras and a triple extension ladder used.

York – Time of call 13:21

Crews from York responded to an alarm activation, false alarm.

York – Time of call 15:36

Crews from Acomb attended a petrol container on fire. Out on arrival, inspection and advice given.

Pickering – Time of call 15:43

Crews from Pickering responded to a male stuck in property. Drag sheet used.

Newby, Scarborough – Time of call 15:52

Crews from Scarborough attended a smoking car. False alarm, No action from fire service.

Helmsley – Time of call 15:52

Crews from Malton, KIrkbymoorside and Helmsley attended an unknown solid giving off acrid fumes. Incident currently ongoing.

This incident involved containers of an unknown substance, believed to have been a type of aicd, which had been on fire and was giving off acrid fumes. Fire crews put a cordon in place but took no further action.

Scarborough– Time of call 16:28

Crews from Scarborough attended a car fire. No action by fire service.
