Incident Summary – Night Shift 20th April

 

 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 

17:07 – Stokesley

 

Crews from Stokesley were requested to assist ambulance with a fuel spillage following a road traffic collision involving a motorbike and a Renault car. Upon arrival crews assisted ambulance personnel with immobilising the motorcyclist until the arrival of air ambulance. He was transported to hospital for treatment. Driver of the Renault was out of the vehicle upon arrival. Crews made the vehicle safe using small tools.

 

 

17:19 – Skeldergate, York

 

York crew attended reports of flooding in a property in the Skeldergate area. Crews gained entry to a property and found the leak to be coming from the boiler. Crew used small tools to isolate leak.

 

17:39 – Haxby Road, York

 

Acomb, Huntington, Tadcaster and aerial ladder platform assistance were called to attend a 3 storey premises with reports to smoke coming from the building and possible persons involved. Upon arrival crews found 2 small rubbish fires within the building and extinguished them using the wildfire backpacks. Crews then conducted a search of the building and found 3 youths who were left in hands of police.

 

18:43 – York

 

York crew attended a bonfire left unattended in the rear garden of a property. They extinguished the fire using buckets of water.

 

19:37 – Hinderwell

 

A crew from Lythe station attended an automatic fire alarm sounding in a building in Hinderwell. After inspecting inside this was believed to have been activated by smoke from external sources such as a BBQ or bonfire.

 

19:58 – Heworth Green, York

 

York crew attended reports of a fire in the open near a children’s playground. Crew extinguished the fire using buckets of water.

 

20:37 – Dunnington, York

 

Crews from York and Huntington attended a property after reports of smoke in the building. After a thorough inspection crew found this to have been caused by cooking fumes.

 

20:49 – Station Parade, Harrogate

 

Crews from Harrogate, Knaresborough and Ripon attended a flat in Harrogate after reports of smoke within the building. Crews inspected and found the smoke to be coming in from a nearby establishment but no actual fire. Advise given.

 

20:57 – Oswaldkirk

 

Helmsley crew were mobilised to a property in Oswaldkirk after the automatic fire alarm system was triggered. Crews investigated and found the cause is believed to be dust from workmen.

 

22:36 – Constantine Avenue, York

 

York crew attended reports of a large bonfire in the rear garden of a property, due to the materials being burnt crews extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel.

 

00:12 – Helmsley

 

Helmsley crew attended a premises within the town after the automatic fire alarm was triggered. After investigating crews found this to be caused by

 

03:28 – Precentors Court, York

 

York crew attended a premises after we received reports of a fire alarm activation, this incident turned out to be a false alarm.

 

04:56 – Station View, Harrogate

 

Harrogate crew attended a premises after we received reports of a fire alarm activation, this incident turned out to be a false alarm.
