Kitchen fire in Malton

Location: Winthropp Close, Malton.

Both Malton firecrews attended a report of a kitchen fire to a domestic premises in Malton.

On their arrival firecrews removed a fire damaged electric cooker to open air, isolated supplies, ventilated the property and fitted some additional smoke alarms.

The cooker and kitchen suffered some fire damage and the cause of the fire was due to a gas leak caused by an uncapped gas supply pipe being ignited by the electric oven.

The last appliance booked away by 19:12 hours.
