Large Fire - Outgang Lane, Osbaldwick, York

1st October 2015

Location:  Outgang Lane, Osbaldwick, York 

Time:  1826 hours 

Fire crews from York, Acomb and Huntington have been in attendance at a large fire on Outgang Lane, Osbaldwick. Control received a number of calls starting at 18:26 with reports of large amounts of black smoke.

The incident was found to be a rubbish fire in the open at a recycling yard. At 18:58 there were 3 main jets in use and by 19:21 works staff were also using their excavator to turn over hot spots.

The incident was scaled down to a 1 pump incident at 20:05 when crews from York were turning over and damping down.

The Environment Agency have been notified but were not required to attend the incident. York crews are still in attendance.
