Large Vehicle Fire - Husthwaite

3rd September 2015

Location : Near Acaster Hill, Husthwaite

At 1502 hours the Fire Service were called to a large vehicle on fire.  A Fire Crew from Easingwold attended.  Upon arrival crews found that the vehicle was a heavy goods tanker containing 2000 litres of kerosene and 11000 litres of diesel.  The fire involved the breaking system which had been extinguished prior to the Fire Service arrival.  Crews stood by until the vehicle was removed by a recovery vehicle.
