Laundry Room Fire, Public House - Long Preston

Location:  Main Street, Long Preston, Settle

At 0408 hours the Fire Service were called to a fire in a Laundry Room which was connected by a corridor to a Public House.  Fire Crews from Settle and Skipton Fire Station attended.  The fire caused 60% fire damage and 100% smoke damage to the Laundry Room and 60% fire damage to the appliances in the room.  Also 10% smoke damage to the Public House.  Fire Crews used 2 Breathing Apparatus, 2 Hose Reels, triple extension ladder, roof ladder, positive pressure ventilation and thermal imaging camera used.  The fire is believed to have started accidentally due to an electrical fault in an extension socket.
