Line Side Fire, Otterington

Location:  Newsham Bridge to Otterington (nr Thirsk)

Time:  11:03

Fire Control received a call stating that there was a fire along the side of the East Coast Mainline rail track, an engine was sent from Thirsk.  On arrival there were two areas of fire measuring @ 1000sqm which they extinguished using a hose reel and beaters.

The cause was believed to be accidental due to sparks from train
