Moor Fire - Roseberry Topping

At 21:52 Fire Control received reports that there was a moor fire at the base of Roseberry topping, appliances from Coulby Newham and Stokesley were mobilised.  Upon arrival they discovered approximately 1000 square meters of gorse well alight and made up for Clevelands Unimog and the water bowser from Boroughbridge.  Crews tackled the fire using 1 Hose reel jet and the water bowser dam.  The last appliance left the incident at around 02:23 on the morning of the 25th May and the incident was left open for a revisit later on.


A crew from Northallerton were mobilised to revisit this incident at 08:50 and upon arrival made up from a second appliance for water, this appliance came from Stokesley.  Crews later made up for the Argocat from Kirby Moorside, Unimog from Cleveland and a third appliance from Danby.  Crews are tackling the fire using 7 knapsack sprayers, alcon pump and the argocat.

Crews began to scale this incident down at 14:36 when Clevelands unimog left the scene, this was followed by Stokesley, Northallerton and the argocat from Kirbymoorside leaving around an half hour later.  One crew from Danby remains at this incident damping down and searching for hotspots, Danby left this incident around 18:00.


A Crew from Danby have been reasigned to this incident to revisit, upon arrival they have descovered some hotspots and are currently damping down using one hose reel jet.  Danby appliance passed a stop message for this incident at 10:03 and left the scene at around 10:21.
