Boak End, Scarborough Time of Call 12:04

A child aged 3 was locked in a car at a service station by accident. A crew from Scarborough attended and were able to rescue the child by accessing the vehicle through the window. The child was unharmed and returned to the parent.

Hudswell, Richmond  Time 14:07

Crews from Richmond and Colburn attended a property where the occupier reported a fire in the wall cavity of the house. The crews identified that a fire had spread from the fire place to the wall cavity and ceiling joists. The crews dismantled the fire place to extinguish the fire using a hose reel jet. It is believed that the flu of the chimney overheated and melted plastics around it spreading fire to the wall and ceiling joists.

Stockwell Road, Knaresborough  Time 15:00

The occupier of the property had put a bag of bottle corks onto the fire place under the chimney. The fire ignited and burned more than expected so the occupier called the Fire Service. A crew from Knaresborough attended and were able to extinguish the fire using a shovel and a metal bucket.

A168 Kirby Hill  Time 17:15Crews from Boroughbridge and Ripon attended a road traffic collision involving two vehicles that had collided head on. This incident is ongoing and more details are to follow.
