Incident Summary Night Shift Thursday 15th November

16th November 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Guisborough Road, Great Ayton – Time of call 17:18

Stokesley firecrew attended a single car RTC after it had struck a lamp post and mobile phone mast. No persons trapped. Area made safe until Police arrived to take over.

York – Time of call 17:44

York crew responded to an alarm activation in a carpark basement with the cause being a system fault.

Salton, Kirkbymoorside – Time of call 19:43

Kirkbymoorside crew extinguished a chimney fire caused due to an accumulation of soot, by removing the wood burning stove and then checking with a thermal camera.

Selby– Time of call 19:49

Selby firecrew extinguished a wheelie bin fire started deliberately with a hosereel.

York – Time of call 19:59

York crew extinguished a bin fire by using a hosereel..

Grassington Road, Stirton – Time of call 22:05

Skipton crew responded to a report of a fire in the open. This was a false alarm due to attended controlled burning. Advice given.

Westborough, Scarborough – Time of call 22:51

Scarborough crew responded to an alarm activation in a commercial premises caused by a faulty panel.

York – Time of call 23:06

Acomb crew used small tools to assist a male from a bathroom after he became locked in.

York – Time of call 01:56

Acomb firecrew responded to a fire alarm activation in sheltered accommodation with the cause being cooking fumes.

Harrogate – Time of call 02:53

Crews were mobilised to a report of a fire alarm sounding in a premises. This was a false alarm due to a burglar alarm being mistaken for a fire alarm.

A682, Swinden – Time of call 03:10

Crew from Settle were mobilised to a report of a road traffic collision involving a lorry and a tree, No persons trapped, crews made scene safe until highways arrived to remove section of tree that was blocking the road.

York – Time of call 04:51

Crews were mobilised to a report of a fire alarm sounding in a premises. This was a false alarm due to a burglar alarm being mistaken for a fire alarm.

Great Busby – Time of call 05:06

Crews were mobilised to a report of a pile of wood on fire. This was believed to be controlled burning left unattended. Crews extinguished using 1 hose reel.
