Incident Summary Night Shift Saturday 30th June

30th June 2018

Time 1810    Location: Geldof Road, Huntington, York

Crews from Huntington, York and Acomb attended a fire in a residential property.  The fire was to food left unattended in an oven. Crews used a hose reel to extinguish before ventilating the property.

Time 1923     Location: Skeldergate, York

 York crew gained access to a 2nd floor flat using a ladder to allow the occupant to access her medication.

Time 1939     Location: Threshfield

A crew from Grassington extinguished a camp fire in woodland using a hose reel. Advice around fire safety was also given to the campers.

Time 1944    Location: Hell Wath Lane, Ripon

 Ripon crew assisted Ambulance crews to locate a casualty reported to be near the bank of a stream.  Casualty was located and dealt with by ambulance.

Time 2001     Location: Castle Road, Scarborough

A fire in a bin close to Scarborough Castle was extinguished by Scarborough crews using a knapsack sprayer.

Time 2057     Location: Cod Beck Mill Industrial Estate, Dalton

The Thirsk crew and the Specialist Animal Rescue team from Ripon rescued a sheep stranded in a river. Manpower only was used.

Time 2118    Location: Commercial Street, Tadcaster

 Tadcaster crew extinguished a small fire in the open using a knapsack sprayer.

Time 2221     Location: South Crescent, Sowerby

 Thirsk crew extinguished a car fire using a hose reel. The fire is thought to have been started deliberately.

Time 2307     Location: St Nicholas Close, Richmond

An officer rescued a cat that had become trapped behind a wardrobe. Small tools were used.

Time 0149      Location: Busby Grange

Crews from North Yorkshire and Cleveland brigades were mobilised to a report of stables on fire. Crew extinguished fire.

 In addition to the above incidents our crews attended automatic fire alarm activations in Masham, Harrogate, York and Scarborough.  All were false alarms
