Incident Summary Night Shift Tuesday 5th June

5th June 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Coneysthorpe - Time of call 17:06

Fire crews from Malton responded to a smoke alarm activation, this was a false alarm caused by a fault in the detector head.

Wigglesworth, Skipton - Time of call 17:50

Fire crews from Settle and Skipton attended a single vehicle road traffic collision. One male - approximate age early   sixties was trapped. Crews released him from car and he was taken to Hospital by Ambulance. His injuries are not believed to be serious.

Near allotments, Bachelor Road, Harrogate - Time of call 18:20

Fire crew from Harrogate responded to reports of a fire sighted near the allotments. On arrival crews confirmed that a make shift shelter most likely rectified by youths was well alight. Cause of fire is believed deliberate. Crews extinguished fire using a small jet and knapsack sprayers.

Boroughbridge - Time of call 18:36

Boroughbridge fire crews attended a smoke alarm activation at a domestic property. This was a false alarm caused by cooking fumes.

Queens Staith, River Ouse, York - Time of call 18:39

York and Acomb fire crews assisted Police with reports of three males seen jumping and messing about in the river, York crew used the Rescue boat, however all males were out of the water and had left the scene.

Wetherby Road, Harrogate - Time of call 19:23

Harrogate crew assisted three people stuck in a lift at a residential property. Crews used lift keys to release lift.

Albert Road, Harrogate - Time of call 22:11

Fire crew from Harrogate attended a residential property to investigate a smell of burning reported by the occupier. Crews investigated the cause of the smell using a thermal imaging camera, however no issues were found.

Womersley Road, Knottingley - Time of call 22:40

Selby fire crews responded to reports of a fire sighted in the open from the M62 flyover. Fire involved approximately 25 tyres. Cause of fire is believed to be deliberate. West Yorkshire fire crews from Castleford also attended. Fir e was extinguished using one hose reel jet.

High Street, Northallerton - Time of call 23:16

Northallerton Fire crews attended a bin fire on the high street. Cause of fire was a dropped light. Crews extinguished fire using one hose reel jet.

Scotch Corner – Time of call 03:08

Crew were mobilised to a report of a HGV on fire. Crews extinguished trailer using 4 breathing apparatus and 2 hose reels. Cause is believed to be due to overheating brakes.
