Round up of incidents – Night Shift Thursday 5th May

  The Avenue, Nunnington, Helmsley

Kirkbymoorside crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to a fault in the detector.

Sandybank, Northallerton

Northallerton crew called to reports of youths setting fire to bales in the open. On arrival, crews extinguished a fire to one hay bale using a hose reel and pitch forks. Police aware of incident.

Marwood Drive, Great Ayton

Stokesley crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crews confirmed this to be a false alarm caused by cooking fumes.

Boggart Lane, Ulleskelf, Selby

Both Tadcaster crews and an officer attended a road traffic collision involving a car and a motorcycle, with the motorcyclist trapped under the car. Fire and rescue crews worked alongside Ambulance crews to free the casualty, using airbags and stabilisation gear. Incident left in hands of Police and Air Ambulance.

Park Parade, Harrogate

Harrogate crew sent to reports of smoke coming from a roadside bin. On arrival, crews confirmed that a disposable barbeque had been left in the litter bin. Crew extinguished the fire using buckets of water.

Mulgrave Castle Road, Lythe

Lythe crew called to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Penhowe Lane, Westow, Malton

Crew called to reports of a car fire. On arrival, crews extinguished the fire using breathing apparatus and one hose reel. Car 100% damaged by fire. Believed started deliberately, incident left in hands of Police.
