Incident Summary Night Shift Wednesday 8th March

Springfield Court, York TOC: 17:15

A crew from Acomb attended a report of a fire alarm sounding after investigation this was found to be due to a power cut in the local area.

M62, Eastbound J34 to J35 TOC: 17:53

Crews from Selby, Ponterfract and Goole were mobilised to a report of smoke from a lorry. This was a false alarm as after thorough investigation, no incident or vehicle could be found.

Grove Square, Leyburn TOC: 18:15

Crews from Leyburn were mobilised to a report of a chimney fire. On arrival crews found the chimney to be well alight, and extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel, 9 metre ladder and a thermal imaging camera. Cause is believed to have been due to an accumulation of soot.

Brook Street, Selby TOC: 18:58

Crews from Selby were mobilised to a report of a tumble drier on fire in a premises. Crews extinguished using 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel and a thermal imaging camera. Cause is believed to have been due to an electrical fault.

 Towthorpe Bridge, Towthorpe TOC: 19:02

Crews from Huntington were mobilised to a report of a car in a ditch with persons trapped. On arrival crews used hydraulic cutting gear to extricate 2 casualties form the vehicle, who were then conveyed to hospital by ambulance.

Mickle Hill, Pickering TOC: 20:19

Crews from Pickering were mobilised to a report of a fire alarm sounding in a premises. This was a false alarm due to a faulty detector.

Water Lane, Dunnington TOC: 20:41

Crews from York and Huntington were mobilised to a report of a chimney fire in a premises. Crews used a chimney kit, a hose reel and an aerial ladder platform to extinguish the fire. Cause is believed to be due to a build up of soot.

Briercliffe, Scarborough TOC: 20:51

Crew from Scarborough were mobilised to a fire in a rear garden. This was controlled burning creating excess smoke. Extinguished using 1 hose reel.

Kings Road, Harrogate TOC: 21:28

Crew from Harrogate were mobilised to a report of a fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm due to fumes from cooking.

Station Lane, Cloughton TOC: 22:36

Crew from Scarborough were mobilised to a report of a fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm due to a faulty smoke detector.

Outgang Lane, Osbaldwick TOC: 23:02

Crew from Acomb were mobilised to a report of a fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm due to an unknown cause.

Hull Road, York TOC: 01:03

Crew from Acomb were mobilised to a report of a fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm due to a burglar alarm mistaken for smoke alarm.

Beck Lane, Cloughton TOC: 01:40

Crew from Scarborough were mobilised to a report of a fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm due to cigarette smoke.

Museum Street, York TOC: 03:40

Crews from York were mobilised to a report of a person fallen into a basement area and suffered a back injury. Crews used ladders to assist police and ambulance crews to gain access.

Hallikeld Close, Melmerby TOC: 03:55

Crews from Ripon, Thirsk and Boroughbridge were mobilised to a report of smoke in an industrial unit. This was a fire to a large industrial saucepan causing smoke logging throughout the premises. Crews used a hose reel, 4 breathing apparatus, ppv fan, triple extension ladder and a thermal imaging camera.

Castle Howard Road, Malton TOC: 06:29

Crew from Malton were mobilised to a report of a fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm cause unknown.
