Summary of Incidents Night Shift 1st February 2016

 

19.39  Park Road, Barlow, Selby

 Crews from Selby attended a chimney fire at a domestic premises in Park Road.

Firefighters found the fire to be out on arrival, they were able to inspect the chimney and ensure everything was safe for the occupants. Crews used lighting and a thermal imaging camera.

The crew gave advice to the occupants of the premises.

 

19.41  York City Football Club, Grosvenor Road, York

 Fire crews from Acomb attended the football ground due to reports of a dangerous sign. The sign had been reported as hanging in a precarious position in high winds. Crews inspected the sign and were able to give advice. They used a 13.5m ladder and manpower.

 

22.29  Bolton Percy Nr Tadcaster

 Fire crews from Tadcaster, Acomb and York attended a farm fire at Bolton Percy.  When crews arrived they found an agricultural building approx 50m x 10m on fire. The building housed cattle, sillage and straw for animal bedding. The farmer at the property managed to get the cattle to safety prior to the crews arrival. Fire crews used 4 hose reels, 2 breathing apparatus, lighting, thermal imaging camera and a water bowser to fight the fire.

Fire crews will carry out further inspection later today.
