Incident Summary Saturday 3rd March Day Shift

Time 0925 - Bridge Street, Bedale

Crews from Bedale attended an address on Bridge Street to remove icicles that were hanging down over a public footpath.  Triple extension ladder and water reach poles used to knock down the icicles.

Time 1019 - Market Street/Feasegate, York

Crew from York attended several properties to knock down icicles hanging precauriously over the pavements using 13.5 m ladder and water reach poles to knock them down.

Time 1117 - Romille Street, Skipton

Crews from Skipton attended a smoke logged property, this was believed to be due to cooking fumes. Crews ventilated property.

Time 1220 - A64 ebc between Bramham and Headley Bar

Crews from Tadcaster and West Yorkshire attended a car fire believed to be caused by an engine fault, extinguished using 2 breathing apparatus and two hose reels.

Time 1227 - Castlegate, Malton

Crews from Malton removed dangerous hanging icicles using triple extension ladder and ceiling hooks

Time 1245 - King Street, Richmond

Crews from Richmond removed dangerous icicles using manpower from open window

Time 1315 - Austwick, Settle

Crews from Settle and Skipton are now assisting in providing water to a farmer for his cows as his water bore hole had frozen and cows had been without water for two days.  The all terrain vehicle from Skipton is  currently in use ferrying water to the farm as the location is extremely isolated.  Incident ongoing.

Time 1316 - Cropton Forest, Pickering

Crews from Pickering assisted in removing a casualty who had received a broken ankle whilst snow boarding to enable her to attend hospital.  Crews improvised using a ladder as a stretcher to carry her down to a waiting Mountain Rescue Ambulance.

Time 1330 - London Road, Barkston Ash

Crews from Tadcaster attended a property with an automatic fire alarm sounding this was due to a defective system.

Time 1430 - Gowthorpe, Selby

Crews from Selby attended a property to remove a dangerous icicle

Time 1445 - St Hildas Street, Sherburn

Crews from Sherburn attended a property which had smoke ogging in livign room due to overheating fan on top of log burner.  Property ventilated.

Time 1632 - Sterling Road, York

Huntington crews attended a male with 3 year child locked inside disabled toilet of fast food oultet.  Crews used angle grinder to release the pair.
