Incident Summary – Night Shift Sunday 11th September

Fulfordgate, York

Acomb crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

Victoria Road, Scarborough

Scarborough crew called to investigate a report of a bin fire. On arrival, crews carried out a thorough search of the area reported. Crews then confirmed this to be a false alarm with good intent, no fire located.

High Street, Knaresborough

Knaresborough crew sent to a report of a bin fire. On arrival, crew confirmed bin fire well alight. Extinguished using one hose reel. Cause deliberate by youths.

Belmont Road, Harrogate

Harrogate crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Penleys Grove Street, York

York and Acomb crew attended a residential property after a report of a kitchen fire. The fire started after a deep fat fryer had been left on an oven hob, melting the deep fat fryer. The fire was out on arrival, crews used a positive pressure ventilation fan to ventilate the smoke from the building. Advice given.  

Swan Road, Harrogate

Harrogate crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival, crews found this to be caused by smoke from a disco. Inspection only.

Church Fenton, Selby area

Crew called to investigate after a report of a fire in the open. On arrival and after searching the area, crews found a large rubbish fire which had been left unattended. Extinguished using one hose reel jet. Cause, controlled burning, left unattended.

The Stray, Conesythorpe area, Maton

Malton crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed false alarm due to fault with detector head.

Champleys Mews, Pickering

Pickering crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm, believed caused by a system fault.

Quakers Lane, Richmond

Richmond crew called out after a report of a bin fire. On arrival, crews extinguished a fire to a refuse sack containing general rubbish. One hose reel used. Cause believed deliberate.
