Incident Summary – Day Shift Tuesday 13th September

Rossett Garth, Harrogate

Harrogate crew called to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Malton Road, Pickering

Local crews attended and dealt with a fire in a large commercial kitchen. Crews entered the building wearing breathing apparatus and extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets. One staff member suffered smoke inhalation, was treated with first aid by fire crews on scene then left in hands of paramedics on their arrival. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Priest Lane, Ripon

Ripon crews called to attend a report of a house fire. The occupier was out of the property and safe on arrival of crews. Crews extinguished a fire in a first floor bedroom. Extensive smoke damage to whole of first floor. Two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet used to extinguish. The fire started accidently, after an electric fire ignited clothing and curtains.

Scalby Road, Scarborough

Scarborough crews sent to an automatic fire alarm activation at a residential property. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm caused by cooking fumes.

High Street, Tadcaster

Tadcaster crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to a system fault.

Hawshaw Road, Cowling, Skipton area

Skipton crew called to attend after a report of a fire in the open. On arrival, crews found a fire to a telegraph pole. The electricity supply had been isolated and the fire was allowed to burn out. No further action by fire service personnel.

Moor Road, Sherburn in Elmet

Tadcaster crew called after a report of a large amount of smoke in the area. On arrival, crew found this to have started as controlled burning under supervision, but had become out of control. One hose reel jet used to extinguish the fire.

A19, Whitley Bridge

Selby crew sent to a report of a vehicle fire. On arrival, crews dealt with a fire to a baler in a straw field. Crew used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
