Incident Summary – Night Shift Friday 26th August

 

 

Rose Avenue, Nether Poppleton, York

Acomb crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation at a commercial property. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm.

 

Windmill Rise, York

Acomb and York crews along with a local officer sent to an automatic fire alarm signal at a residential property with no response from the occupier. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to a system fault.

 

St Cuthberts Green, Barton

Richmond crew sent to a smoke alarm activation at a residential property, on arrival and after investigation crews confirmed this to be a false alarm.

 

North Grimston area, Malton

Malton crew responded to a report of a fire in the open. On arrival, crew found a small fire burning close to hedgerow. One hose reel used to extinguish the fire. Cause, deliberate.

 

Walworth Avenue, Harrogate

Harrogate crews called to attend after a report of smoke inside a property. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to a smell of smoke from an overheated appliance.

 

Trinity Road, Scarborough

Scarborough crew sent to the area after a report of a fire in the open. On arrival, crews dealt with a fire to a wheelie bin, using one hose reel jet to extinguish. Cause believed deliberate.

 

Stonebeck Gate Lane, Fryup, Whitby area

Local crews called after a report of a kitchen fire in a residential property. On arrival, crews entered the property in two breathing apparatus teams and extinguished a fire to a ground floor kitchen using two hose reels. All persons out of the house and to safety on arrival of Fire Service personnel.

 

Hambleton Avenue, Thirsk

Thirsk crew sent to a report of a fire in the open. Crews dealt with a small fire in a rear garden of a property. Extinguished using buckets of water. Cause accidental.

 

Near Skeldergate Bridge, York

York crews and boat sent to assist after a request from Police to help after a report of a female in the river. Fire and Rescue boat was launched and one female rescued from the river. Handed over to Police and Ambulance crews.

 

Acomb Road, York

Acomb crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to a fault on the system.
