Incident Summary – Night Shift Tuesday 31st January

 

 

16:33 (Update from previous summary) Scarborough Road, East Knapton, Malton

Malton and Sherburn crews attended a single vehicle road traffic collision. On arrival, Ambulance crew in attendance dealing with one male casualty. Fire and Rescue crews treated one female casualty with first aid until arrival of second Ambulance. Traffic control and scene safety carried out before leaving the scene.

 

18:01   Candler Avenue, West Ayton

Scarborough crews called after a report from a passer by of a chimney fire. On arrival, crew confirmed chimney fire well alight. Crews tackled the fire with a hose reel from above, using the aerial ladder platform.

 

18:49  High Street, Harrogate

Harrogate crews attended and dealt with a fire in a building. All persons out of building on arrival of Fire and Rescue crews. Crews entered building in breathing apparatus and extinguished the fire using three hose reels. Cause of fire is believed to be accidental.

 

19:52  Valley Drive, Harrogate

Ripon crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm.

 

20:35  Station Road, Cross Hills, Keighley

Skipton crew attended after a report of a possible fire in the area. On arrival, crew confirmed this to be sparks issuing from an exposed cable within bushes. Northern Power grid contacted to attend. Cordon put in place by fire and rescue crews and incident left awaiting arrival of mobile engineer.

 

20:44  High Street, Harrogate

Ripon crew attended and dealt with a small rubbish fire in the open. Crew used a beater to extinguish. Cause is believed to be deliberate.

 

22:12  Buckingham Terrace, York

York crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm.

 

03:19  Farnham Lane, Farnham, Knaresborough

Knaresborough crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm.
