Incident Summary – Day Shift Monday 3rd October

08:12 New Road, Kirkbymoorside

Crew called after a report of a possible chimney fire. On arrival, crews dealt with a fire to a wooden mantle. Crews removed the mantle to open air and also removed stove to ensure no spread behind. Crews worked with a thermal image camera to confirm no fire spread.

09:36 Barmby Close, York

Crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to dust in detector.

10:03 High Street, Starbeck, Harrogate

Harrogate crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to testing of system.

10:41 Huddleston, South Milford

Tadcaster crew called after a report of thick black smoke in the area. On arrival, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm with good intent, due to controlled burning under supervision. Inspection by crew and advice given.

10:51 Scargill Road, Harrogate

Harrogate crew sent to a report of a fire in the open. Crews extinguished a fire to refuse in a residential garden using one hose reel.

11:26 Sneaton High Moor, Whitby area

Crews sent after a report of a fire in the open. On arrival and after investigation of area, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm, no fire found.

12:34 Rayner Street, Ripon

Ripon crew sent after a report of a smoke alarm sounding. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to a fault on system.

12:40 Harrogate Road, Bishop Monkton

Ripon and Harrogate crews attended and dealt with a fire to the side of a small wooden barn, following fire spread from controlled burning. One hose reel used to extinguish.

13:28 Buttercrambe/Sand Hutton, Malton area

Crew called to attend after a report of a fire in the open. On arrival, crews extinguished a rubbish fire using one hose reel jet. Cause believed deliberate.

15:36 Station Road, Tadcaster

Tadcaster crews attended a two vehicle road traffic collision. First vehicle, no persons injured or trapped. Second vehicle, one casualty trapped by injuries, crews stabilised vehicle before releasing casualty, on attendance of paramedics.

15:41 Station Road, Thirsk

Thirsk crew sent after a report of a fire in the open. On arrival, crew found this to be controlled burning, under supervision. No further action required.
