Incident Summary – Day Shift Tuesday 5th July

The Green, Tockwith.

Acomb crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation at a residential property. On arrival and after investigation, crews confirmed this to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Kingsway, Huby.

Harrogate crew sent to a report of a chimney fire. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm with good intent, chimney operating normally.

Skeldergate, York.

York crew sent to the area after a request from Ambulance to assist with a male who had fallen on a foot bridge and become trapped. Crew assisted by using small tools to release the male. Left in care of Ambulance.

Road from Countersett to Marsett, Hawes area.

Hawes crew sent to assist with smoke issuing from a vehicle following a road traffic collision. On arrival, crew confirmed no persons trapped, driver unharmed. Crew dealt with a fire to the vehicle using 2 hose reel jets.

Main Street, Helaugh, Tadcaster

Tadcaster crew along with their Water Bowser and a further Fire Engine from Wetherby attended and dealt with a fire to approximately 40 tonnes of straw bales in a barn. Two main jets used to protect surrounding buildings.

George Hudson Street, York

York crew attended to assist with a lift release. Crew used lift keys to open the lift, allowing a female to exit safely.

Colburn Lane, Colburn, Catterick

Colburn and Richmond crews sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after invesitgation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

North Street, Ripon

Crews from Ripon, Boroughbridge and Harrogate with an Aerial Ladder Platform vehicle attended a high rise residential property after a report of smoke issuing from a window. On arrival, crews entered the property and extinguished a small fire using one hose reel and breathing apparatus. No persons inside the property.

Valley Bridge Road, Scarborough

Scarborough crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to faulty smoke detector.
