Incident Summary Day Shift Friday 29th June 2018

28th June 2018

TOC 0917 - Hambleton Hill

Crews responded to reports of a possible fire in the open, visible from some distance. Upon arrival in the area no fire was found despite extensive searches.


TOC 1042 - Tadcaster

Crews were requested to assist 2 elderly members of the community to safely regain entry to their home. Both occupants were safely restored to their home without further incident.


TOC 1108 - A19 Nr. Ellerbeck

Crews were requested by Police to attend a 2 vehicle road traffic collision with persons trapped. On arrival at the scene crews found all persons from both vehicles had been safely released prior to arrival. Ambulance attendance was requested and no further action was required from Fire Brigade on scene.


TOC 1201 - Richmond Market Place

Crews were requested to attend a business reporting smoke issuing from the ground floor of the premises. Crews arrived and upon investigation found a fire in a ground floor storage area. The fire was successfully extinguished by crews using breathing apparatus and the premises were ventilated.


TOC 1209 - Leeside, York

Crews attended a garden fire reported out of control. Upon arrival crews found a garden fire which had ignited near by trees. Crews used a hose reel jet to successfully gain control of and extinguish the fire. Crews damped down the area and provided advice to the owner on scene.


TOC 1234 - Bishopdale

Reports were received of a possible moor fire in the Bishopdale area. Upon arrival crews carried out investigations and found what was believed to be smoke was a haze resulting from lime spreading on fields.


TOC 1255 - St Giles Park, Colburn

Calls were received from a resident stating that the bush outside their house was on fire. On arrival crews found a bush on fire and extinguished this using a hose reel jet.


TOC 1516 – Ings Lane Scarborough

Crews were called to reports of a stubble field on fire. Upon arrival crews found the field on fire. Crews used 2 hose reel jets and water back packs to tackel the fire. The edges of the field were damped down and the fire was extinguished.


False Alarms:

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service attended multiple false alarms throughout the course of the day’s duties.
