Incident summary for Day tshift 2 August 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred

 

TOC 0928 – Gribdale Gate Towards Captain Cook’s monument

Crews attended reports of a fire in the open. Upon arrival a 10 metre square area of grassland was found on fire. Crews extinguished the fire. Cause believed to be deliberate.

TOC 1150 – Woodlands Park, Pickering

Reports were received of a flooding in a residence. Crews attended and assisted with isolating the leak and made the premises safe. 

TOC 1216 - Mill Lane, Barlow, Selby

Crews attended a fire in the open. Upon investigation crews found the fire was supervised controlled burning.

 TOC 1257 – Low Blakey Moor, Farndale

Crews were called to a fire on the moor. Upon arrival crews found an area of grass on fire measuring 10m by 6,. Crews used a hose reel to extinguish the fire. They then searched the area thoroughly for any further areas of fire. The crews found a firelighter at the scene so believed the cause was deliberate.

TOC 1335 – Mayfield Grove, Harrogate

Reports were received of fire in a residential, 3 storey house. After investigation crews on the scene found the reported fire was in fact dust from works blowing out of the windows of the premises, where works were in progress.

 

TOC  1440 - Limestone Lane, Suffield

Reports were received of a field on fire. Upon arrival crews found a 50 meter square fire in a field. Crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. Cause is believed to be accidental, from sparks from farm machinery.

 

TOC 1615 – Clifton Park Avenue, York 

The fire service received a request to help a member of the public who had fallen in the street. Crews attended and assisted the person back to their vehicle.

 TOC 1621 – Streelam, Danby Wiske

Crews responded to a report of a combine harvester on fire. Upon arrival crews found the combine well alight. Crews used hose reels and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.

TOC 1704 - Strensall, York

Reports of a fire in the open were received. Upon arrival crews found youths having a fire in a fire pit. The fire was out on arrival. Advice given on scene.

 

TOC 1724 – Exhibition square, York 

Crews attended the square to assist a member of the community who had become trapped in the public toilets. Crews freed the person from the toilet safely.
